Where the dirt road ends at the break.
Bungalows Buena Vista sits at the edge of Barra de la Cruz — a tiny fishing village turned world-class surf destination on the coast of Oaxaca. We're not just close to the wave.
We're the closest property to the point break that you can book.
Wake up, step onto your balcony, check the swell. Walk two minutes and you're paddling out. No shuttles, no trek through town, no guessing. Just you and one of the most perfect right-hand point breaks on the planet.
Four independent bungalows, each with its own kitchen, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Simple, clean, and everything you need for a proper surf trip. Nothing you don't.

Four cylindrical towers. Built like silos. Cooled like refrigerators.

Your host
Meet Jose.
Jose runs Bungalows Buena Vista and lives in Barra. He's the one you'll WhatsApp, the one who'll meet you at check-in, and the one who'll point you toward the best food, the next clean swell, and the breaks down the coast when this one's flat. Reply time is usually under an hour.

The Wave
The wave you came for.
A world-class right, on a beach you'll have mostly to yourself.
"If you're surfing this is the only place you want to be."
Getting here
End of the road, start of the swell.
Barra de la Cruz is a small pueblo off the Mex 200 highway, about 30 minutes south of Huatulco. It's remote — that's the point. The closest city is Huatulco, which has an international airport with direct flights from Mexico City and seasonal connections to the US and Canada.
By Plane
Fly into Huatulco (HUX), then a 30-minute drive. Hire a car or arrange a taxi at the terminal.
By Car / Taxi
Rental cars from ~$25 USD/day in Huatulco. Taxi from Huatulco runs about $20 USD (~350 pesos).
By Collectivo
Budget option at ~50 pesos (~$2.80 USD). Drops at the highway, then a 20-minute walk into town.
Address
Barra de la Cruz, 70790, Oaxaca, México.

Questions you might have.
June through September are peak. The wave needs south swell and can be flat on shorter windows, but when it's on, it's on.
A two-minute walk to the sand from your door, then a short walk along the beach to the point. You can see the lineup from the balcony.
Yes. About 100 MXN per person per day, paid at the beach entrance to the local community. It funds the restaurant, palapas, and lifeguards.
Yes — there's secure board storage on the property.
No. We're not that kind of place. We're four clean, quiet bungalows with kitchens and AC, two minutes from one of Mexico's best rights. The beach restaurant has food and cold beer.
